JILL PAZ

Die philippinisch-kanadische Jill Paz (* 1982) wanderte Anfang der achtziger Jahre aus und kehrte nach Abschluss ihres Studiums (BFA und MFA, beide am Columbus College für Kunst und Design, dazwischen studierte sie Kunstgeschichte an der University of British Columbia) zurück nach Manila, Philippinen, um sich wieder mit ihrem angestammten Zuhause, dem Land und der Kunstszene zu verbinden. Ihre erste Einzelausstellung auf den Philippinen trug den Titel „Die Vergangenheit ist ein fremdes Land“ (2017) und ihre erste Einzelausstellung bei 1335MABINI den Titel „Geschichte der Gegenwart“ (2018). Paz stellte auch auf der Art Fair Philippines 2019 mit einem Solo-Spielfilm aus.
