Daniel DOMIG | Matter of a burning body

Daniel Domig was born 1983 in Vancouver and studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he lives with his lovely family. His large-scale installation is currently on view at Waterburton Gallery in Edinburgh until the end of May 2015.

Previous solo presentations include:

All words Were once Animals, 33 Orchard, New York | Don’t ask for a name now, Thrust Projects, New York | Till Human Voices wake us and We drown, Gallery Winiazyk, Vienna | We taste as Wine, Artists Quarterly, Sotheby’s Vienna | With all the Things we Build and Make, Thrust Projects, New York.

“Daniel Domig’s paintings focus on the complexity of human existence. He deals with its barely fathomable depths, with our attempts at communication, our dreams, our ultimate failure. In the manner of a psychologist the artist analyses the psyche. His pictures function either hung on walls in the traditional manner or as «building material»  for sculptures.
